  • Wooden popsicle sticks or sturdy skewers (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry apples well. Slice each apple vertically into 1/2-inch thick rounds. Remove seeds and core from the center of each slice. Brush both sides lightly with lemon juice.
  2. If desired, insert a popsicle stick into the bottom of each apple round for easier dipping and serving.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine caramel bits and heavy cream. Microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring after each, until melted and smooth (about 1-2 minutes total).
  4. Place apple slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Spoon or spread a generous layer of warm caramel over the top of each slice. Let caramel set for 2-3 minutes.
  5. In a clean bowl, combine chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using). Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth and pourable.
  6. Drizzle melted chocolate over each caramel-covered slice using a spoon or fork.
  7. Sprinkle with desired toppings and press gently so they stick.
  8. Transfer tray to the fridge for 10-15 minutes, or until caramel and chocolate are firm.
  9. Arrange on a platter and serve chilled or at room temperature.
