Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • ¼ cup chives, finely chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  3. Lightly flour your surface. Roll out the puff pastry to about ¼ inch thick. Cut it into 2-inch squares (you should get about 12 squares).
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese, chopped chives, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly distributed.
  5. Place about a tablespoon of the cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square. Fold the corners up to meet in the center and pinch to seal. Place them seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Beat the egg in a small bowl. Brush the tops of each bite with the egg wash to give them that beautiful golden color when baked.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.
  8. Let them cool slightly before serving.
