- 12 oz (340 g) pasta (penne or rigatoni)
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (lean recommended)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup (240 ml) beef broth (low-sodium preferred)
- 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
- ½ cup (120 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup (100 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Additional mozzarella cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the beef broth, heavy cream, and softened cream cheese until smooth.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the beef. Pour the creamy sauce over the mixture and stir well to combine.
- Pour the pasta and beef mixture into a greased 9×13 inch (23×33 cm) baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Top with shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese. If you want more cheesiness, sprinkle additional mozzarella on top!
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
For a lower-carb option, you can swap pasta for zucchini noodles or cauliflower. If you’re aiming for a vegetarian version, consider using lentils or mushrooms instead of beef.
