  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Nutella (plus more for swirling)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your loaf pan, or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. You can leave a few small chunks for texture if you like!
  3. Add the melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix until combined.
  4. Stir in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until fully incorporated.
  5. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, and flour.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
  8. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  9. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, then add dollops of Nutella on top. Use a knife or a skewer to swirl it in slightly.
  10. Add the remaining batter on top and repeat the Nutella dollops and swirling process.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  12. Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
